Youtube Handles: Why They Matter and How to Get One

If you have already created your Youtube channel, you must have received an email from Youtube inviting you to choose your handle. A handle is a personalized Youtube URL with the name of your business or organization. This URL is different from a generic string of characters assigned to your Youtube channel by default. It is important to grab your unique handle now before someone else does it. It's free, only takes a few minutes, and will boost your overall online strategy.

There are a few reasons why having a personalized Youtube handle is essential:

  • It makes your channel look more professional and credible, which can help you attract more viewers and subscribers.

  • It's easier for people to remember, so they're more likely to visit your channel again.

  • It helps you build a strong online brand identity.

  • It makes it easier for people to find your channel through search engines like Google.

  • It gives you a chance to show off your creativity!

To get started, simply log into your Youtube account at https://studio.youtube.com/. In the left-hand side menu, click on "Customization".

Then, under the "Basic info" tab, you can enter the name you want for your personalized Youtube URL. Remember to be creative, but keep it simple and easy to remember. Once you are happy with your handle name and it's been validated by the system, don't forget to press "Publish".
